Reward and punishment!

In psychology,just like the fobia, reward dan punishment is another kind of learning too. However it is called as operant conditioning which refer to the process a person learns to behave to produce attractive consequences.

There are two things we will talk about in this conditioning :
Reinforement and Punishment.
Reinforcement is something you do to increase the intensity of behavior.
Punishment is something you do to decrease the intensity of behavior.

The question is why do my child or employee do not motivate by the reward i give??
It may be caused by the several reason:

1. The reward's quality
2. The immediacy(reward being given immedialy or after a periond)
3. The reward's fit (the reward fit the work that had been done?)
4. The recipient's need (that person need that reward?)
5. Reward intensity(Reward being given everytime or just sometime)
6. The value of the reward(that person may not think that is a reward)
